G-protein coupled receptor steps Flashcards

1
Q

What are the steps to the G-protein coupled receptors (GPCR)?

A
  1. signaling molecule binds to GPCR
  2. GTP binds Gsa through exchange with GDP
  3. Gsa detaches from GPCR
  4. Gsa binds to AC
  5. AC converts ATP to cAMP
  6. cAMP activates PKA in cytosol
  7. PKA phosphorylates other enzymes to activate or inactivate
