Fungi Flashcards
Microsporida
Intracellular Parasites, Pathogenic animals, primitive
Blastocladiomycota
produces motile spores and gametes, lives in aquatic and soil environments, alternates between generations, pathogens of animals
Zygomycota
molds, zygospores, uses animals and water pressure to shoot out and move their spores, sexual reproduction
Neocallimastigomycota
anaerobic(without oxygen), fermentation, lives on the gut of animals
Chytridiomycota
Has motile flagella, requires water, pathogens of amphibians
Glomeromycota
abundant, closely related to land plants, gives plants surface area
Basidiomycota
produces mushrooms and yeast, terrestrial ecosystem, some can be eaten and others are toxic
Ascomycota
creates Lichen- a super organism functioning as a single organism. yeast and Penicillium molds
Endomycorrhizae
penetrates root structures and individual cells
Ectomycorrhizae
Hyphae grows outside the roots , doesn’t penetrates the cell
