Q

A-C Joint
(Acromioclavicular)

A

Attaches to trapezius and deltoid muscle
Glide medially toward the clavicle. Finger will feel a small ‘step’ as you rise up onto the surface of the clavicle. Backtrack slightly. Just lateral to the step will be the AC joint’s slender ditch.

15
Q

Ischial tuberosity
Attaches what muscle

A

Bony projection of butt, aka sit bone. Attaches to hamstring tendons (biceps femoris).
In prone, bend leg and ask to resist the bend

16
Q

Greater trochanter

A

Lateral proximal edge of femur.
Wrist crease
Prone, holding ankle, flex knee to 90º. As proximal hand palpates the greater trochanter, use the other hand to medially and laterally rotate the hip.
Gluteus medius and gluteus minimus tendon attach

17
Q

Occipital ridge

A

Back of the head, where the base of the skull meets the spine

18
Q

Mastoid process

A

Bump behind ears.
Attachment of SCM

19
Q

TMJ

A

Space anterior to tragus
Between temporal and mandibular

20
Q

Tibial/deltoid tuberosity

A

Bony bump on tibia/humerus
Insertion point for quadriceps muscles

21
Q

Intertubercular groove
aka Bicipital sulcus

A

Groove on the humerus that separates the greater tubercle from lesser tubercle.
Tendon of long head of bicep brachii muscle runs through
Palpate by flexing arm and resisting push down

22
Q

Styloid process

A

A bony prominence of distal end of the ulna/radius by the wrist

23
Q

Transverse process of C-spine

A

Two laterally projecting parts of the vertebral arch
Half way in between mastoid and angle of mandible

24
Q

Head of talus

A
  • Located between the navicular and medial malleolus
  • Invert/evert the foot to palpate
  • Articulates with tibia, calcaneum and navicular
25
Q

Iliac crest

A

Bony top ridge of iliac bone (L4)

26
Q

Pop fossa

A

Back of the knee

27
Q

Lateral and medial malleoli

A

Medial malleolus: tibia
Lateral malleolus: fibula

28
Q

Cuneiform (medial, middle and lateral)

A

Proximal to base of first metatarsal
Medial cuneiform attaches to the tibialis anterior and tibialis posterior muscle
- Navicular attaches proximally
- Cuboid attaches laterally

29
Q

How do you find C7

A

Pops out with cervical flexion

30
Q

Talocrural joint

A
  • Ankle joint that allows plantar and dorsi flexion
  • Made up of the tibia, fibula, and talus bones
  • Muscles: tibialis anterior and tibialis posterior
31
Q

Subtalar joint

A
  • Allows for inversion and eversion, or rotation, of the foot
  • Connects the talus and calcaneus
32
Q

Tarsometatarsal joint

A

Articulates with cuboid and three cuneiforms

33
Q

Metatarsophalangeal joint (MTP)

A

Connect the toes to the metatarsal bones

34
Q

Interphalangeal joint

A

Wiggling toes
