Fuel Flashcards
What is the indication that the Nitrogen Generator System (NGS) is not operating?
Inoperative (amber) light on the NGS indicator in the main wheel area.
What does the LOW (amber) fuel alert indicate?
Main Tank fuel quantity is less than 2000 lbs.
What does the IMBAL (amber) alert mean?
Main Tank fuel quantities differ by greater than 1000 lbs.
When does the CONFIG (amber) alert display?
Center Tank fuel quantity is greater than 1600 lbs, and both CTR FUEL PUMP switches are positioned OFF, and either engine is running
Why is center tank fuel burned first, even though all fuel pumps are operating?
Center pump output pressure is approximately double the main tanks ensuring the center tank is drained first.
Will the LOW PRESSURE light (amber) illuminate if a main tank FUEL PUMP switch is placed to OFF?
Yes.
The Center Tank Fuel Pump switches are ON. What does a CTR PUMP LOW PRESSURE light (amber) indicate? Will the pump shut off?
Qty is low in the center tank. The pump will shutoff after 15 seconds of continuous low pressure signal.
When do the Fuel Annunciator and MASTER CAUTION LIGHTS illuminate for a Center Tank Fuel Pump LOW PRESSURE light?
Approx. 10 seconds after continuous low pressure signal.
What is the purpose of the Crossfeed valve?
To feed fuel from one tank to both engines in order to burn fuel to balance or in EO scenarios.
What does a Crossfeed VALVE OPEN light (bright blue) indicate?
Valve either doesn’t match switch position or is in transit.
What can suction feed from the No. 1 Main Tank? The No. 2 Main Tank?
No. 1: Engine 1
No. 2: Engine 2
Where is the Fueling Receptacle?
Under the right wing outboard of the engine.
What closes both the Spar Fuel Shutoff Valve and the Engine Fuel Shutoff Valve?
Start lever to cutoff or fire switch pulled.
What does an ENG VALVE CLOSED (bright blue) light indicate? When would you expect to see it?
Valve is in transit or doesn’t match switch position.
