Fuel Flashcards
Where is APU fuel supplied from?
Left collector tank
Max pressure refueling
Left - 7,492 lbs
Right - 7,492 lbs
Center - 4,610 lbs
Total - 19,594 lbs
How is fuel heated?
Oil to fuel heat exchanger
How is the fuel tank protected from over pressure?
Over pressure relief valve (>5 psi)
What is the purpose of the NACA scoops in flight?
Provide ram air pressure too maintain a positive pressure in the fuel tanks.
When is fuel automatically balanced?
Fuel imbalance of more than 200 lbs between wings
When does automatic fueling cease?
When fuel quantity of the low tank exceeds the other wing by 50 lbs
FUEL IMBALANCE caution message
Imbalance exceeds 800 lbs between wing tanks
Is there any indication that fuel is being transferred from the center tank?
No indications, it is fully automatic
When is fuel transferred from the center tank?
When a wing tank drops below 94% it is transferred until the wing is full
Limitation for takeoff with fuel in the center tank
Takeoff with fuel in excess of 500 lbs in the center tank is prohibited unless each wing tank has at least 4400 lbs of fuel
How many fuel gauging probes?
- 17 total
- 6 in each wing
- 1 in each collector
- 3 in center tank
Where is the fuel temperature monitored?
Fuel temperature sensor located in the right wing
How many magnetic levels are installed?
- 5 total
- 2 in each wing
- 1 in center tank
How are the collector tanks kept full?
Gravity and scavenge ejectors
