Fuel Flashcards
How many tanks?
- Left, and Right main tanks. Center tank
Will the total fuel from each tank = the totalizer fuel quantity?
No, seperate calculation. It should be close though. the totalizer fuel quantity is sent to FMC
Does the calculated fuel value in FMC include the APU fuel burn?
No, apu fuel burn is not considered in calculation
Where can you find fuel temperature limitations?
No flight deck warning. Must review limitations in volume 1. Temp must be at least 3 degrees C over freeze point.
Procedure for low fuel temperature…
Descend to warmer air, increase airspeed, diversion to warmer air mass
How many pumps are in each tank?
Each tank contains 2 ac fuel pumps (6 total)
At what pressure do center pumps operate?
2 times the pressure of main tank pumps
What are special about the center pumps as far as shedding is concerned?
Center tank pump is inhibited when respective engine is shutdown. Will turn back on when n2 reaches 50%.
Fuel config light illuminates when..
- Both C tank pump switches are off with more than 1,200 lbs of fuel
- There is fuel imbalances greater than 1,800 lbs between main tanks
- There is less than 2,200 lbs in the left or right main fuel tank
When does the dedicated DC pump in the left main tank automatically provide fuel to the apu?
- The airplane is on the ground
- AC power is not avail to power themain pumps
- APU switch is in the ON position
No flight deck indications that DC pump is running
When does AC pump kick on for APU?
When AC power is supplied to the aircraft. the L FWD AC fuel pump activates automatically regardless of switch position.
Does the fuel system have any other way to feed the engine besides pumps?
Yes, suction bypass intake. (not reliable)
What is the max fuel imbalance for dispatch?
1,500 lbs
Where can fuel balancing procedure be found/
In the Supplemental procedures vol 1 or QRH
767ER - At what rate can you jettison fuel?
1,300 lbs per min. and only out of center fuel tank.
