Social solidarity- everyone likes standardised testing and agrees with the idea that exams are the way towards- education system encourages this as it promotes and eases children using standardised testing
Supporting the needs of the modern economy by dividing is into different sectors of work and also into hierarchies
Specialised division of labour - placed into jobs based on skills , ability and hard work you pick up in education- allows for meritocracy

Particularistic and universalist if values - education is the bridge between family and society . Families judge people based on particularistic values - family specific values - live and respect
I’m n school we are judged through exams and educational success . We are also judged on universalistic values - being on time , respecting authority - learned through the hidden curriculum
Education teaches us shared norms and values of society

Extended the park of Durkheim- education gives you the skills to compete for the highest paid and rewarded jobs - inequality is inevitable
Role allocation is a concept used to say how we are placed into jobs
Education sifts and sorts us into the most suitable role. Society is meritocratic , rewards people for hard work - it tests our skills - need to attach high money , high status to high training jobs
Standardised testing combined with innate abilities
