FS Testing(Two Stage Cementing) Flashcards
Why would you use two stage cementing
- Hydrostatic limitation
- Selective cementing of annulus (Parts of annulus can be left uncemented)
- Separation and isolation of special zones (Salt, Weak formations…)
What is the alternative for a two stage job to isolate weak formation
Light weight slurry
In 4 steps describe what you would do if the stage collar does not open
- Wait, opening bomb is on its way
- Apply pressure above the collar
- Run drill pipe
- Perforate above the collar
In a two stage job when should we wait on the first stage to set before pumping second stage
When hydrostatic of the second stage may fracture the formation
