FRMS Flashcards

1
Q

According to FRMS what is an exceptional circumstance?

A

Weather holding or a diversion to an alternate airfield due to adverse weather is considered to be an exceptional circumstance. Crew do not need to consider weather holding or the time taken for a possible diversion, as long as the time to divert and land at the alternate will be less than the two hour duty extension allowance in section

Q

If diversion is required which will exceed the 2 hour extension, is this acceptable?

A

No, the crew must ensure that there is sufficient duty time available to conduct an approach at the destination, divert, hold, approach and land at the alternate airfield within the maximum duty period plus the two hour extension (including post flight duties).

Q

What does D7 or FAID mean on Phoenix

A

A flag will be displayed when the duty is within 12 hours of a cumulative duty limit (≥45 hours for the 7 day limit, ≥78 hours for the 14 day limit), or if the FAID score is calculated to be ≥70. A flag will also be displayed if cumulative flight time is within 8 hours of the 7 day limit (i.e. 42 hours).
The cumulative flight time limitation will be tracked by Phoenix. Phoenix will raise a ‘[F7]’ warning flag when an aircrew member will exceed 42 hours in 7 days and a compliance flag if an aircrew member exceeds 50 hours in 7 days.

Q

Are crew responsible for flight and duty?

A
