Individuals interact outside of Stage 1 roles and don’t follow the stereotypes associated with those roles.

Friendships evolve into this stage through time and refinement. Norms and interaction patterns are functioning optimally for both parties

Decline in affect, decision to end friendship, relationship terminating event.

Friendship is over but can still impact us.
