16
Q

DISADVANTAGE OF SAMPLE USED

A

only studying one boy from Vienna - difficult to generalise the results to all children (especially as he had developed unusual phobias)

17
Q

ADVANTAGE OF WAY OF COLLECTING DATA

A

they were able to find much more info about his thoughts + fantasies + dreams + phobias which couldn’t be possible through other methods - would’ve been less embarrassed to share these things with his father

18
Q

DISADVANTAGE OF WAY OF COLLECTING DATA

A

little hans’ father may have asked deliberately leading questions + only reported certain convos which support Freud’s theory (or Hans may have lied himself)

19
Q

ETHICS

A

UPHOLD:
> confidentiality - ‘little Hans’
> not deceived
> consent given by Hans’ father
BROKEN:
> psychological harm -
embarrassment by being
questioned by his father of
personal issues

20
Q

INTERNAL RELIABILITY

A

not standardised - unstructured interview

21
Q

EXTERNAL RELIABILITY

A

sample size too small - can’t assume all children go through this psychosexual development theory
