Q

classical conditioning
- learning by association

A

. Pavlov noticed dogs would salivate
every time they saw food
. ring bell every time give them food
. did this over and over again so that

Q

operant conditioning
- learning from consequences of our
behaviour

A

> positive reinforcement
= when a behaviour is encouraged
by a reward being ADDED - stickers
negative reinforcement
= when a behaviour is encourage
by the REMOVAL of an unpleasant
stimulant - wearing sun cream
positive punishment
= negative effect is ADDED to
reduce likelihood of the behaviour
being repeated - naughty step
negative punishment
= something desirable is TAKEN
away in order to prevent the
behaviour from being repeated -
no TV
