  • Pilgrimage of Grace- Sir Robert Aske- Lawyer, attorney to the Earl of Northumberland
  • Western rebellion- Sir Humphrey Arundell, John Winslade and John Bury- Substantial landowners in Cornwall and Devon
  • Wyatt-Sir Thomas Wyatt, but also Sir James Croft and Sir Peter Carew- Carew and Wyatt were courtiers and Croft held a variety of government posts
