National Assembly
The national assembly was a reformation of France’s 3rd estate that gave the lower classes more power in the country.
3 Estates
The 3 estates were the different social classes’ representatives in the government.
King Louis XVI
King Louis XVI was a king a France known for being a weak leader that couldn’t take care of his people. He squandered money and almost bankrupted the country.
Queen Marie Antoinette
Queen Marie Antoinette was the wife of the ruler King Louis XVI. She was given lavish items, many servants, and expensive travels. She often gave unwise advice to her husband who willingly listened to it.
Jacobins
The Jacobins were a group of radicalist revolutionaries. They were against the monarchy and made enemies with the initial revolutionaries.
Maximilien de Robespierre
Maximilien de Robespierre was a leader in the revolution. He became the leader of the Jacobins and would eventually help lead the during the Reign of Terror.
Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was known as the time when public executions were allowed if were suspected to be counter-revolutionary.
Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon was the Emperor of France following the Reign of Terror. He would go on to be a successful leader who conquered many foreign lands
