A

This guarantees that wine originate from commune of Pauillac and meets standards laid down for wine from this commune.
Wine can be declassified under many other AOCs

Explain Appellation Haut-Medoc Controlee/Appellation Haut-Medoc Protegee?

A

This guarantees that wine comes from Haut-Medoc and meets requirements of this AOC.
They are slightly less specific then for Pauillac.
Wine may be blended with wine from other communes in Haut-Medoc.
Wine can be also further declassified.

Explain Cru Bourgeois?

A

This classification was introduced in Medoc in 1932.
But was recognised 2009.
Originaly there was 444 Chateux in this classification.
2003 there was update that classified only 247 chateaux in next order:
1. 9 as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel
2. 87 as Cru Bourgeois Superieurs
3. 151 as Cru Bourgeois
This left out original 200 Chateaux and led to 2007 Bordeaux cort annule this and went back to original classification.
