Q

What is SV and it’s formula?

A

Schedule Variance

  • Compares activity’s actual progress to date vs. estimated progress
  • Represented in terms of cost
  • Tells you whether the schedule is ahead of or behind what was planned for this period
  • SV = EV - PV

Q

What is the formula for CPI?

A

Cost Performance Index:

  • Measures the value of the work completed at the measurement date against actual cost.
  • Most critical of all EVM measurements
  • If less than 1, you are spending more than anticipated for completed work
  • CPI = EV / AC
