Si Jun Zi Tang
(4 gentleman decoction)

Indication: SP & ST Qi deficiency syndrome
Function: Benefits Qi, strengthens SP
S/sx: pallid complexion, low soft voice, reduced appetite, loose stools, weakness in the limbs.
T: pale
P: thin/ or frail
*this is a common formula for tonifying the Qi. its distinguished by its harmonious & moderate nature.
currently used for chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, IBS, uterine fibroids.

Sheng Mai San (generate the pulse)

mai men dong
wu wei zi
Indications:
1) summer heat causes profuse sweating, exhausting Qi & injurying fluids.
s/sx: SOB, dry mouth, thirsty & fatigue
2) chronic lung deficiency cough, Qi & yin injured
s/sx: chronic cough w sparse sputum that is difficult to expectorate, sob, spontaneous sweating, dry mouth & tongue.
T: pale red, dry thin coat
P: deficient, rapid or deficient thin
*this formula is well balanced, tonifies, nourishes & clears & is an astringent.
Si Wu Tang (4 substance decoction)
shu di huang (#1 yin tonic, tonify blood & KD yin)
dang gui (tonify & activate blood. the ability to bring blood bk to its source, this herb brings it back to the return)
bai shao (sour to soften the LV, never tonify LV only tonify LV blood & astringent yin.
chuan xiong (goes into the blood level to regulate Qi within the blood.
INDICATION: Chong & Ren channels deficiency or blood deficiency stagnation.
T: pale
P: thin, wiry or thin, choppy
s/sx: irregular menstruation with little flow or amenorrhea, lower abdominal pain, dizziness, blurred vision, abdominal masses with reoccurent pain, restless fetus disorder or lochioschesis w firm & painful abd & sporadic fever & chills.
*do not use during period
Shao Yao Gan Cao Tang*
BAI SHAO 12-30g
ZHI GAN CAO 9-20g
equal sweet/sour
soften the LV & relax the pain.
Indication: muscle spasmodic pain due to LV blood & yin def.
S/SX: irritability, slight chills, spasms of the calf muscles, cramps in the hands & pain in abd.
T: lack of coat
