Q

The White arrow - how can you use it?

A

You can pick a point on the path (the border of the frame), drag it and reshape the frame.

You also just pick a point between the path boxes and move the frame that way.

RE: Click on the White Arrow tool, THEN> DC to select the frame
Only thing i have figured out so far, which is very cool, is to select a corner of a frame, and move it in or out creating an irregular shape - so great for playing with the shape of a image by manipulating its frame.

Q

How do the swatch & color panels work together?

A

If you want to colour an object (either stroke or fill) go to the ‘swatch panel’.

If your desired colour isn’t there, you’ll need to specify in the colour panel and add to the swatch.

Q

In the colour & swatch panels the very small double headed arrow enables you to do what?

A

Quickly swap the fill & stroke colours

RE: cool for experimenting, switch the colour on an object. E.g. your document background could have an orange fill & black stroke - the double headed arrow switches the two to give you a black BG and orange stroke.

Q

Colour type: Spot or Process, which is the one you are typically going to use?

A

SPOT should only be used if you are sending to a printing press & you know your printer is using special pantone inks (spot inks).

PROCESS is going to be my usual choice.

Which for on screen viewing?

For doc to print choose CMYK otherwise for on screen viewing RGB is fine.

22
Q

Challenge: I want to create a swatch for my branded orange colour - how can I find out the spec?

A
  1. Looked on Square space, but it’s specified in ‘HSL’ : hsl(48,100%,50%).
In Dreamweaver I would specify this colour in 'HEX':
#FFCC00

But ID needs either: CMYK or RGB

  1. I searched for colour converters and found:
