A
- Learning typically provided by an education or training institution.
- Structured (in terms of learning objectives, learning time or learning support) and leading to certification.
- Formal learning is intentional from the learner’s perspective

what is non formal education?
A
- It takes place outside of an education or training institution and typically does not lead to certification or qualification.
- It is however, structured in terms of learning objectives, learning time or learning support.
- It can be undertaken by the individual or be part of an organized activity that occurs within the workplace or community (seminars, workshops, …).
- Non-formal learning is intentional from the learner ’s perspective

A
It is not structured (in terms of learning objectives, learning time or learning support).
Typically does not lead to certification.
Informal learning may be intentional but in most cases it is not-intentional

what is instructional scaffolding?
A
The support given during the learning process which is tailored to the needs of the student.
- The selection of the learning task: interesting and challenging 2. The anticipation of errors.
- The application of scaffolds during the learning task.
- The consideration of emotive or affective factors (control for frustration, loss of interest and encouragement)
