define the concept of family:
- A group of persons related by virtue of either consanguinity or affinity, with feelings of belonging, support and care. (Poston, 2004)
- This system of persons is regulated in a very different way along history and across cultures.
- The goal of family is creating a appropriate developmental scene and give support in their learning process (Rodrigo & Palacios, 1998)
what is family diversity?
Family diversity refers to a broad range of characteristics or dimensions on which families vary, along with a recognition that there are a multitude of different family types that function effectively. It refers to variations along structural or demographic dimensions (e.g., ethnicity, socioeconomic status), as well as in family processes (e.g., communication and parenting behaviors)”
what are the four parenting styles?
Neglectful
Authoritarian
Permissive
Authoritative
what is authoriative parenting styles?
authorative parenting style is when there are clear standards in place whilst still giving the child the chance to think for themselves and be independant.
what is authoritarian parenting?
authoritarian parenting styles is when a parent makes all the rules for the child and they are unable to question these rules or answer back or they will be disciplined
what can affect the way adults behave?
Anxiety levels.
Situation.
Child´s characteristics.
The age of the child.
what can influence the way that a child behaves?
- Sense of participation belonging
- Perception and intentions of adults
- Acceptance of the message (Message considered as fair and proportionate)
