Scottish Policy
James V did not show to a meeting with Henry in York, and Henry went tow ar with him in 1542
England defeated Scotland at Solway Moss in November 1542 and James died shortly after.
Treaty of Greenwich agreed to marry Edward and Mary, James daughter, but the Scots soon rejected the agreement.
England was unable to conflict a victory over Scotland and Henry’s tactic of ‘rough wooing’ (consistent border raids) failed. Mary was married to the French Dauphin
French Policy
During his wars with France 1542-46 Henry gained Boulougne in 1544 at a huge financial cost. Treaty of Camp gave him Boulougne for 7 years and France agreed to pay the outstanding pension payments
