Elbow Injury Mechanism
Can be injured direct or indirect
Indirect elbow trauma via FOOSH can cause a radial head fracture or suprecondylar fracture
Management Principles
Nevery apply a circular cast
When applying a posterior slab, elbow is ideally to 90 degrees with forearm in neutral
Elbow is prone to stiffness with immobilization
XRAY Principles
Anterior fat pad - “sail sign”
Posterior fat pad - abnormal
Radio-capitellar line
Anterior humeral line (pediatrics)
