What is the relationship between force and velocity in concentric contractions?
Muscle force and contraction velocity are inversely related
What does the force velocity curve look like? (Conc and ecc)
Give an example exercise for each stage of the concentric curve
Max strength - back squat,
Strength speed - Olympic lift,
Speed strength - medicine ball throw, plyometrics (best for power),
Speed - sprinting
Why is the force generated in conc contractions lesser than in isometric?
(For same level of activation)
The quicker the movement, the less time for cross bridges to form and greater rate of cross bridge detachment, therefore less contractile force.
What is the force velocity relationship in ecc contractions?
Force and velocity are directly related.
How do you calculate power?
Force x velocity
