Q

Which muscle fibre is recruited first eg. Whilst holding a weight

A

IIb as they are high force however they are also high fatigue so then IIa and I are recruited

Q

How might increasing firing freq increase the force generated by a muscle?

A

It increases the rate at which muscle action potentials stimulate the muscle fibre, at shorter intervals the relaxation between contractions diminishes (summation), resulting in a stronger force and tetanus

Q

What’s intermuscular co-ord and intramuscular co-ord?

A

Inter - between the diff muscles in the body eg. Agonists and antagonist
Intra - between the indiv fibres in the muscle eg. MU recruitment and FF
