how to carry out a test for starch?
Add the iodine solution directly to the substance to be tested and look for a change in colour.
How to carry out a test for proteins?
Add Biuret’s to the solution to be tested and look for a change in colour.
How to carry out a test for reducing sugars?
1)Add Benedict to the solution to be tested.
2)Heat for two minutes in a water bath at boiling point and look for a change in colour.
How to carry out a test for lipids?
1)Add ethanol to the solution to be tested and shake thoroughly.
2) Then add water and look for a change colour.
