Biases, stereotypes or judgments about people with larger bodies, including their health, diet or capabilities

Market or industry is controlled by a few players
What is Agricultural monoculture?
Only one food is produced or grown in a large geographic area year after year

How many people are undernourished?
about 1 billion
There is enough food for the world. What is the problem?
The problem is access & distribution!
What are the reasons for hunger?
- Poverty
- Natural disasters (drought, floods)
- Conflict
- Weak agricultural infrastructure (roads, warehouses, water access)
- Over-exploitation of the environment
What is undernutrition?
a diet that provides an inadequate intake of dietary energy
Undernourished people generally show visible physical signs of:
- Underweight
- Malaise, weakness etc.
What is Malnutrition?
A diet that provides inadequate levels of nutrients because of inappropriate combinations and/or proportions of foods
How can you detect Malnutrition?
usually cant because people may not show obvious signs
What is the difference between malnutrition and undernourished?
- Undernutrition is about low calorie levels.
- Malnutrition is about low nutrient levels (vitamins or minerals)
- Undernourished almost always malnourished
- Malnourished may be undernourished or ‘overnourished’
