What are producers?
Green plants that make their own food. They are the first level of the food chain.
What do the arrows on a food chain represent?
The flow of energy from one organism to another.
What is a secondary consumer?
An animal that is a carnivore or meat-eater. They eat herbivores (primary consumers) and are the third level on a food chain.
What is a primary consumer?
An animal that is herbivore or plant eater. They eat producers and are the second level of the food chain.
What is a tertiary consumer?
An animal that is a carnivore or meat-eater. Eats secondary consumers and is the fourth level of the food chain.
