Why do people move less freely than money?
Restrictions on migration.
Not as free flowing as financial markets.
What has happened in recent years?
Increase in numbers of migrants crossing international borders - better opportunity.
Where has this movement occurred?
From developing counties in South Asia, Africa and Latin America to richer counties.
Where has there been another major destination. For movement of labour?
Oil rich gulf states like Kuwait / Qatar.
Plentiful employment opportunity.
Where does most migration occur?
Over short distances within same region or neighbouring region
Who migrates?
Anyone.
But for labour reasons it’s the education and people with some financial means.
Where is the largest region flow of labour in the world?
Asia.
Between 2005 and 2010 around 5 millions workers moved from South Asia to west Asia.
