  2. can be done mentally known as implosion
  3. We see the process of reciprocal inhabitation- body becomes exhausted so fear disappears

Who supports flooding?

A

Flooding is supported by Wolpe who used flooding to treat a girls phobia of cars by continuously driving her around. This is a strength because it shows how reciprocal inhabitation treats phobias which means it is a credible explanation.

OTOH- case study- cannot be generalised

Who conflicts flooding?

A

Flooding is conflicted by Bartlett who tried to use implosion to help a girl who a phobia of snakes and each time she closed her eyes she could see snakes.This is a weakness because the treatment wasn’t effective which lowers the credibility
