What kind of flight control system does the aircraft have?
A functionally distributed Fly-by-wire control system
Two basic modes of operation
Normal (NM) and Direct (DM)
When will the flight control system automatically revert back to Direct mode?
When Normal mode is not possible due to multiple system failures
Is flight under Direct mode recommended?
No, it should be avoided since some protection functions are lost
What happens if the AP/PTY button is pressed?
Auto pilot is disengaged
What happens if the AP/PTY button is pressed for longer than a second?
Exclusive control given to the side stick while it’s pressed in and priority annunciation is activated
If one side stick has been latched out, how can exclusive control be removed?
By pressing either sides priority button
What happens if dual side stick input occurs and priority has not been requested by either?
Tactile warning in each stick, oral warning, PFD flag are triggered.
The inputs are algebraically summed
Is sidestick controller priority available in Direct Mode?
No, normal mode only
With AP engaged, Touch Control Steering (TCS) does what?
Allows pilot to manually control airplane while AP is engaged
During manual flight with flaps 3 or full, gear down, AP off, what does the Touch Control Steering (TCS) button do?
Resets TCS trim speed bug
Pulling the speed brake level activates what?
Deploys multifunction spoilers as speedbrakes
What are the multifunction spoiler angles when used as speed brakes?
Stowed is 0, FULL is 30
When can the Pitch trim switch be manually operated?
On the ground or in Direct mode
What button is used to recover Normal Mode or revert to Direct Mode is Norm is malfunctioning?
FLTCTRL NORMAL MODE button
When is a manual switch to DM inhibited?
FCS protection engaged: Low or high speed protection, AOA protection
Flight control synoptic page, color yellow actuator status mean.
DM and at least one actuator is engaged
When is side slip target presented by a blue side slip skid indicator?
One engine inop during TO, climb, or GA
