What is first aid
First aid is the initial or first help that is given to an injured or ill person
What to say when calling 000
State clearly which service you need, and:
• Stay calm and speak clearly.
• Location of the emergency
• The telephone number
• What has happened
• How many persons require assistance
• Condition of the casualty
• What assistance is being given
• Any other information requested
—Never hang up before the emergency services operator hangs up.
—Ask someone to stay in a prominent position to direct the emergency service vehicle to the correct location.
Recovery position:
Hand supports head
Knee stops body from rolling on stomach
Defibrillator:
An electronic device that can be used to give a lifesaving shock to someone’s heart
Asthma Symptoms:
— Breathlessness
— Wheezing
— Tight chest
— Persistent cough
Symptoms often occur at night, early in the morning or during or after activity.

• Some medicines
• Cat allergens
• Cigarette smoke
• Indoor air pollution
• Thunderstorms in spring and summer

Anaphylaxis definition
An allergic reaction to which the body has become hypersensitive to
Signs + symptoms (Anaphylaxis)
• tingling of the mouth
• swelling of the face, lips, eyes
• vomiting or abdominal pain.
• wheeze or persistent cough
• paleness and floppiness in young children
• difficulty talking or hoarse voice
