Treat every firearm as loaded

Always point muzzle in a safe direction

The finger is to remain off the trigger until a conscious decision has been made to discharge the firearm

Safety Pins
Trigger Safety - prevents trigger from moving rearward unless it is pressed correctly
Drop Safety - prevents the forearm from firing if suddenly jolted or dropped
Firing pin safety - works with the trigger safety and drop safety to prevent the firing pin from striking the round unless the trigger has been depressed
