- High rate fire extinguishing bottle discharges immediately
* 1 minute later, second fire extinguishing bottle discharges at a reduced rate
On the ground, will the 2nd fire extinguishing bottle automatically discharge?
No, it must be manually discharged via the pushbutton
Can the fire extinguisher bottles be used without a cargo smoke warning?
Yes, by pushing the cargo fire extinguisher button to arm the bottles and then pushing it again to activate the bottle
How is lavatory smoke detected?
1 smoke sensor installed on each lavatory ceiling
Where is the fire extinguisher located in the lavatory?
1 bottle installed on each waste container
How is the lavatory extinguisher discharged?
Automatically via a heat sensitive blowout plug
What happens if smoke is detected in either lavatory?
- Master warning lights illuminate
- LAV SMOKE EICAS WARNING message displayed
- Alarm sounds in the lavatory
- Flashing amber light illuminates on the attendants light panel

The APU will shut down

After you fire the engine extinguisher does the fire handle light extinguishing mean the fire is out?
No, if the CAS message persists then the fire is not out
