Finding the conclusion

A

The arguments conclusion must be closely connected to its premises, assumptions, and any intermediary conclusions that may be present.

An argument’s conclusion must follow only from the information presented in the argument and any assumptions made by the argument.

The correct answer must do the best job among the five answers of capturing the author’s conclusion

Consider using “therefore” to find the right answer.

Difference between find the conclusion and inference questions

A

Correct answers to inference the questions have to be true given what the stimuli say, while the correct answers to Find the Conclusion don’t have to be true give what the statements say. It just has to flow logically from the statements.

Answers to inference questions can be any conclusion supported by any portions of the stimuli. Find the conclusion questions are generally conclusions that follow logically from the entire stimuli.
