Final revision Flashcards
approach idle for what conditions
NAI
Flaps in landing position
CONT IGNITION ON
Reverse thrust
after 3 start attempts (on ground), what EICAS?
ENG 1,2,3,4 AUTOSTART
(Atlas) reasons to use continuous ignition
Severe Turbulence
Volcanic Ash
Heavy Rain
Icing Conditions (on automatically with NAI)
Standing water/slush on runway
when do INOP lights for yaw damper extinguish
first IRU aligned
Full alignment of IRS must be accomplished…
when time from last full alignment to next expected arrival time exceeds 18hours
utility bus has
galley equipment
Main Pump 2/3 FWD
OVD Pump 2/3 FWD
CWT Pump L
(aside from fault) how do you disarm autobrakes
- pedals
- speed brake lever moved down (after deployment)
- switch to disarm or off
- any thrust lever advanced
How many detectors, what loop configuration, how many extinguishers?
Engines
APU
FWD/AFT cargo
Main cargo deck
Wheel well
Engine - dual loop fire, dual loop overheat, both must detect fire/ovht unless configured for single loop. 2 extinguishers per wing
APU - dual loop fire, NIL overheat detection, either loop detecting fire gives warning, shuts down automatically, fires extinguisher on ground. 1 extinguisher
FWD/AFT cargo - 4 dual loop smoke detectors in each (8 total), both must detect unless in single loop. 4 extinguishers total (cannot use for both FWD and AFT at same time)
MAIN cargo - 16 dual loop smoke detectors, both must detect unless in single loop. Nil extinguishers
(Both - SAMPLE AIR throughout each compartment drawn through detectors by center bleed duct air)
Wheel well - single loop fire detector. nil extinguishers
Quick method to know fuel to remain amount during jettison
MLW - ZFW
what speed do outboard ailerons lockout
238 kts
which faults cause no NAI
PRV failed closed
PRV closed due bleed overheat
PRV closed due starter valve failed to close
HP valve failed open
Engine Bleed ‘SYS FAULT Lights due to:
HP bleed valve open when commanded closed
Bleed air overheat
Bleed air overpressure
PRV open when commanded closed
when speedbrake lever ARMED, what conditions drive speedbrake lever to UP
- main landing gear touch down
- thrust levers 1 AND 3 near idle
when speedbrake lever DN, what conditions drive speedbrake lever to UP
- main landing gear touch down
- thrust levers 1 AND 3 near idle
- reverse thrust levers 2 OR 4 idle
when speedbrake lever UP, what conditions drive speedbrake lever to DN (GA protection)
- thrust lever 1 OR 3 advanced from idle
How many ZTCs are there?
One
PTC autoswitches if:
PTC fails
channel fails
What causes Zone SYS FAULT Light
- FOCC
- Fault/overheat - zone temp controller fault/ temperature zone duct overheat
- OFF - trim air switch
- Closed - master trim air valve closed but pack air continues to flow
- Closed - master trim air valve failed closed
How does flight deck fan work
- only on ground
- packs off, recirculates cabin air
- packs on, increases flow of conditioned air
what about the gears is required to unlock gear switch
- main gear tilted
- body gear centred
what are the two functions of THR switch and which has a light?
- A/THR function (lit)
- Thrust limiting function (unlit)
What fpm can V/S command in climb and descent
6000fpm climb
8000fpm descent
which probe only heated in flight
TAT
when are most probes heated (not TAT)
first engine started
blue strap under taxi lights
hold down strap for loading
what position should outflow valves be in on ground
both open
what controls aft cargo heat
- bleed air from center section of bleed air duct
- thermal switch in compartment opens and closes temp control valve
- overheat switch opens/closes overheat valve
what hyd systems power elevator feel
2 and 3
if hyd 2 and 3 fail what provides elevator feel forces and what are its limitations
mechanical springs - not based on speed
what do yaw dampers do
- provide TURN COORDINATION
- improve lateral and directional stability (prevent dutch roll)
