Air Con Flashcards
What is the flight deck temperature range with the Flight Deck (FLT) temperature selector in AUTO?
18-29 deg c
What valve is controlled when MAN is selected with the flight deck temperature controller?
flight deck trim air control valve
What does the Zone System (SYS) Fault Light indicate?
- temperature zone duct overheat or zone temperature controller fault has occurred
- master trim air valve failed closed
* Trim Air switch off - master trim air valve closed and pack air continues to flow
What is the temperature range with the main deck and forward and aft lobe temperature selectors in AUTO?
4-29 deg c
Under what conditions would trim air be unavailable to the flight deck, upper deck, crew rest, and main deck?
center duct isolation (e.g leak)
If trim is not available to the flight deck, upper deck, crew rest, and main deck distribution system, how is temperature controlled in the cabin?
backup temperature control mode
if FD temp selector setting available to PTC, pack outlet temp of all packs regulated to achieve 18-29
- if unavailable, outlet temp regulated to achieve last FD temp set
- if unavailable - regulated to achieve 24
temp to CR,UD,MD not regulated
What target temperature is set to the upper deck and crew rest zone when electrical power is initially applied to the airplane?
24 deg c
How many pack temperature controllers (PTC) are provided?
2 - A and B
How many separate channels are provided in the PTCs?
3 channels (one per pack)
What happens if a pack temperature controller (PTC) detects a fault in a pack channel?
automatically switches to other PTC
How can you restore pack operation for a failed PTC?
should auto select other PTC, otherwise can manually (when trim air switch on) attempt to restore pack operation with pack reset switch
What would happen if a fault or an overheat of the PTC is detected?
respective pack valve closes resulting in pack shut down - switch to other PTC (auto or manual)
What are the 7 temperature zones of the 400f?
FD, UD, CR, MD - FWD and AFT, LLCZ - FWD and AFT
What is the function of the Lower Lobe Cargo Conditioned AIR FLOW RATE Selector (LLCCAFR)?
configure pack flow rate for lower lobe cargo zone
With the LLCCAFR Switch off, what controls pack outlet temperature?
lowest of zones FD, UD, CR, MD
What zone and what pack is affected with the LLCCAFR selector in the FWD HI?
Fwd LLCC receives all pack 3 air
What zone and what pack is affected with the LLCCAFR selector in AFT HI?
Aft LLCC receives all pack 2 air
Explain the position of the LLCCAFR selector in BOTH LOW.
2/3 of each pack (2+3) go to respective zones (aft + fwd)
1/3 of each pack (2+3) go to cabin
What position of the LLCCAFR selector would result in all packs remaining in high flow during cruise?
FWD or AFT HI Or BOTH LOW
To what systems do the center duct provide air supply?
aft cargo heat
trim air (all zones)
cargo smoke detection
potable water pressurization
LLC a/c trim air
Describe overheat protection of the aft cargo heat system.
overheat thermal switch opens and closes an overheat/shutoff valve at higher temps
What is the source of heat for the forward cargo compartment?
Heated air exhausted from E&E compartment
