- The Outer Speed Board is placed 1550 metres from the defective area, displaying a temporary speed of 40 km/h.
- The C ‘Commencement’ Board is placed 50 metres prior to the defective area.
- The T ‘Termination’ Board is placed 50 metres after the defective area.

- Proceed cautiously, making sure your train is at the required speed of 40 km/h before reaching the C Board.
- Maintain 40 km/h while travelling through the defective area.
- Not to exceed 40 km/h until your train is clear of the T “Termination” Board.

Who should you contact to check if HEATS are on, and what should you do when passing through a heat restriction?
A
- Contact Train Control between 1000 and 2000 hours.
- Confirm if the heat restrictions are on.
- Proceed cautiously, not to exceed 40 km/h until completely clear of the T (small H) Board.

If you come across a speed restriction area, but there are no boards, what should you do?
A
- Not to exceed the speed as indicated on the TSR notice.
- Advise TC of the missing boards.
