Onomatopoeia
Uses words that imitate sounds and reproduce real life sounds and actions. Sound effects heightens visual effect.
Hyperbole
An over-exaggeration, not meant to be taken literally. It aims to create humor or emphasize a point.

Euphemism
Expresses an unpleasant or uncomfortable situation in a more sensitive, kind and tactful manner. Purpose is to soften and blow, protect feelings or to be politically correct.

Clever play on words

Implies the opposite of what is said
