A

Made from a combination of chemicals and cellulose waste

Origin of natural fibres: Cotton

A
  • produced by cotton plant
  • harvested by hand or machine
  • dried before ginning to remove seeds
  • fibres then undergo carding & combing to get them to lie in the same direction
  • spinning then stretches and twists the fibres into staple yarns

A
  • produced by sheep, which undergo shearing
  • the fleece is then graded for quality and scoured to remove grease and dirt
  • it is then carbonised to remove plant materials
  • then the fibres are spun to produce yarn
