Q

What are the steps of reproduction?

A

1) millions of sperm are released into the female reproductive system
2 ) the sperm all have to race to the egg
3) only one sperm can enter and once it has, the egg creates a protective layer so that no other sperm can enter
4) the nuclei of both gametes fuse together (fertilisation)
5) after fusing, a new cell forms, divides several times, and forms a tiny ball of cells called the embryo
6)the embryo implants into the uterus of the mother and continues to grow
7)this eventually grows into a full-grown baby
