Boundaries of the femoral triangle
Upper: Inguinal ligament
lateral: sartorius
medial: adductor longus
floor: pectineus and iliopsoas
Contents of the femoral triangle
Femoral nerve, artery, and vein, inguinal lymph nodes and vessels.
Boundaries of the adductor canal
Anteriorly - sartorius.
Posteromedially - adductor longus and adductor magnus.
Laterally - vastus medialis.
What is the adductor hiatus
where the artery and vein dive posterior to the knee and turn into the popliteal artery/vein
Popliteal fossa
Popliteal artery, vein, and small saphenous vein (more superficial)
Boundaries of the popliteal fossa
Superior/medial: semimembranosus and the semitendinosus muscles
Lateral: biceps femoris
Inferior: medial and lateral heads of the gastrocnemius form the medial and lateral borders.
