A

Sex refers to the biological differences between man and woman
Gender is used to explain the innate character
The term feminine describes the ideal gender type and seeks to keep women insubordinate position

A

A term used to describe the society dominated by men and run in the interest of men
Systematic oppression of women by men
Underrepresented in the formal positions of power in the state
Conditioned to believe the domesticity is destiny
And that domestic abuse should be left in private matters
Women are conditioned to feel abnormal for having sexual feelings

A

The public sphere refers to society in the private sphere refers to family
The slogan was to highlight to women, the aspects of life that were considered personal, we are part of a system that sought to oppress women
Aim to raise awareness among women so that they could challenge the status quo
Kate Miller identified the family as a key area of women’s oppression

A

Aimed to widen, the narrow focus that feminism traditionally had to welcome experiences from women of different cultures class and religion, and give them a voice

A

Socialist feminism

A

Believe that gender inequality in society, stems from economics and capitalism
Women acted as reserve army of labour
Capitalism was based on accumulation of private property, so women were required to be virgins until marriage and monogamous throughout marriage
Charlotte Perkins Gilman favoured a communal basis of living and equal household rolls
Believe that capitalism creates patriarchy, women should join together with men to fight capitalism and remove the patriarchy too

A

Sexual revolution to fundamentally change the structure and nature of society

Associated with second wave, and the phrase personal is political
