describe the heart’s natural pacemaker
A
the SA node, also known as the heart’s natural pacemaker, is a small bundle of specialised cells in the right atrium. the electrical activity spreads through the walls of the atrium and causes them to contract. this forces blood into the ventricles.

what can be done if the SA node stops working?
A
a mechanical pacemaker can be provided. this is a device run by a battery that helps the heart beat regularly

are there any disadvantages to this?
A
infection, swelling, bruising or bleeding, blood clots, damage to nerves or blood vessels, a collapsed lung all happening near the site of the device
