Family of Orientation

Family which you will produce one day.
Patriachal
The family unit is headed by the man. The wife and children are expected to obey the man. He has the final say in all decisions.
Matriarchal
The women heads the family unit; she makes all the decisions.
Equalitarian/Egalitarian:
A parenting style where the husband and wife share the power equally in the family.
Authoritative, democratic, backbone.
A parenting style where parenting between the parent and child is centered (balanced.) Rules are explained and reasonable consequences are given, the child develops self control. Self-discipline is nurtured as the parent/guardian interacts with the children. The children are consulted when decisions are made in the family. A child’s behavior is rewarded with praise and encouragement.
Brick Wall, Authoritarian.
A parenting style that is parent-centered; the father (in most causes) and sometimes the mother, makes all the parental decisions. Limited explanations about misbehavior and punishment. Children and sometimes wife, must obey the father without question. Father or head parent relies on physical punishment and very strict rules.
Jellyfish, permissive.
A parenting style is child-centered; a child makes all the decisions. The children have unlimited freedom to act and express themselves. Parent or guardian has little control over their children. Rewards are based on social approval or good behavior. Children learn what is not socially acceptable from the result of their actions.
Helicopter Parenting
Helicopter parents constantly interact with and often intereact and often interfere with their childrens lives. They hover like helicopters and do not let their children learn their own independence because they’re afraid they’ll get hirt.
Uninvolved or Neglect Parenting
Where parents don’t really care for their children or show a lack of interest, possible neglect. A parent might be too busy with work to spend time with their child, or talking on the phone for long hours and don’t really care about what the child is doing.
