A

There are different social arrangements.A family must consist of kin and can be a variety of types, For example it can be an extended family or a nuclear family. However a household can consist of any people living at the same address. In 19996 Lawson and Garrod pointed out; ‘most families live in households, but not all households are families’.

Q

family/household differences 2

A

There are different relationships. Leech identified that one aspect of the nuclear family is that 2. The relationship between adults is heterosexual and based on romantic love. Children are seen as the outcome of that love and procreation is seen as an essential element in the reproduction of society and it is reinforced by marriage. Whereas a household doesn’t always involve these relationships as it isn’t always a family.
