A

The extended family is a group consisting of all kin- includes at least 2 generations, normally under the same roof or living close by. The nuclear family comprises of parents and children and is often seen as the only natural or desirable way to live.

A

difference in structure and size. Leech identified the nuclear family is small and compact in structure and it is composed of a mother, father and usually two or three children, who are biologically related. While the extended family only consists family consists of several nuclear families which are linked through kinship ties.

They have different living arrangements. Leech identified that the nuclear family share a common residence. Whereas Willmott identified the extended family may be living far apart from each other and They maintain regular contact through visits, phone calls and e-mail.
