Falcon 900B Fuel System Flashcards
Which engines provide LP bleed air to the fuel tanks?
No 1 and No 2
How is fuel tank group 2 filled during gravity refueling?
The fuel will not gravity feed into the center tanks so the transfer system must be used.
How many boost pumps are in this system?
4 - 1 for each wing tank and 2 for the center tanks
What will turn on both center tank boost pumps simultaneously?
Putting either one of the lower X-BP valves to the open position.
Where are the fuel shut off valves located in the aircraft?
In the belly fuel well between the main landing gear.
Is it possible to dispatch an airplane with one boost pump inoperative?
Yes, provided the tanks are pressurized. An air pressure gauge for the tanks is located in the rear equipment compartment.
How many jet pumps are in the tanks?
How are they powered?
Eleven
4 in each wing (groups one and three)
3 in the center group (group two)
They are powered by the boost pumps.
Which electrical system powers the fuel shutoff valves?
Both the A and B buses for back up.
What will turn on the amber FUEL light on the panel?
fuel pressure below 4.6 psi
What will cause the amber X-BP light to illuminate on the overhead panel?
If one of the X-BP valves has failed to fully close.
What causes the XTK light on the overhead panel to illuminate?
If the XTK valve is not fully closed
What will happen to the jet pumps in the tanks if a boost pump fails?
They stop working.
How much fuel is left in each tank when the needle on the gauge is at the top of yellow arc?
What is another indication that the fuel levels have reached these levels?
1000 pounds in Group 1 and Group 2 tanks. 1100 pounds in Group 3 tanks.
The LEVEL amber lights on the overhead fuel panel.
What does the fuel flow test button on the maintenance panel do?
When pressed it slews the needles on the fuel gauges to 1200 lbs per hour.
What are normal fuel reserves?
3000 lbs
