Falcon 900b Air-conditioning & Pressurization & APU Flashcards
What is the HP 1 used for?
It provides extra bleed air when the wing anti-ice is turned on. It is an on/off valve unlike the PRV valves on the other two pneumatic systems (#2 and #3) which are variable valves.
What would cause the BLEED APU light to come on?
If the throttle levers are advanced past 54˚ and the APU bleed air valve does not fully close.
Which LP bleed air system provides compressed air to the cockpit, air conditioner and wing anti-ice if the Isolation valve is closed?
The bleeds from engine #1 and engine #3 (36-5)
Which LP bleed air system provides compressed air to the passenger air-conditioning and the S duct if the isolation valve is closed?
Bleed air from engine #2. (36-5)
Which bleed air system(s) provide pressurization to the fuel tanks?
LP bleed air from engines one and two.
How many fuel nozzles on the Garrett APU?
6
Is the APU a constant or variable speed unit?
Constant speed
If the oil light comes on for the APU on the overhead panel what will occur if the crew does nothing?
Oil light means the oil pressure is below 31 psi and the APU will shut down automatically 10 seconds after the light comes on.
What two oil related limits will trigger the oil light on the APU?
Pressure below 31psi or Oil temperature above 163˚.
From where does the APU get it’s fuel?
No. 2 engine feed line.
What will happen to the APU if the ECU overheats?
The APU will shut down.
If the APU does a self-shut down what is the procedure for relighting it?
The system is reset by turning off the APU MASTER pushbutton and then turning it back on.
If the APU needs to be restarted immediately after a shut down what is temperature the crew must see before attempting the relight?
200˚ C on the ITT gauge.
What is the procedure if the APU GEN light stays on above 97% rotation speed?
The starter generator is still in start mode and the APU must be shut down.
If no ITT is observed within ______ secs the APU start should be terminated and wait ________ mins before attempting a second start.
10 seconds
5 minutes
If the BLEED OVHT light comes on how does the crew determine which of the 3 bleed air systems is the problem?
By turning of the bleed airs on the overhead panel one at a time. When the BLEED OVHT light starts blinking when one of the switches is turned off this blinking indicates the problem system. 21-4
