What is Class A airspace? how many MSL? What it is used for?
Largest airspace - 18,000 MSL - large aircraft flying long hauls
What is Class B airspace?
Larger airports - remember “upside down wedding cake” design
What is Class C and D airspace?
Usually incrementally smaller airports; might not even have a tower
Can you legally fly a drone in Class A, B, C, or D airspace? Who do you need permission from?
No – but you MUST have permission from ATC (air traffic control) to fly in these spaces
What is CTAF?
Used for pilots to self-announce something - on a radio frequency
What is Multicom? What are the frequencies?
The frequency used if CTAF is not available (I.e. smaller airports) – 122.9 and 122.95 are the frequencies
What is UNICOM?
Usually the same as CTAF
What are ABCD, EFGH of pilot language?
Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta - Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel
What are IJKL, MNOP of pilot language?
India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima - Mike, November, Oscar, Papa
What are QRST, UVWX, YZ of pilot language?
Quebec, Romeo, Seirra, Tango - Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, Xray - Yankee, Zulu
