Arthritis (inflammation of the joints) Type two diabetes (inability to control blood sugar level) High blood pressure Heart disease A risk factors for some types of cancer
What does too much saturated fat / salt lead to?
Increased blood cholesterol level
High blood pressure/ heart problems
What problems are associated with people that suffer from lack of food?
Slow growth Fatigue Poor resistance to infection Irregular periods Deficiency diseases
What are the benefits of exercise?
Increases energy used which decreased the amount stored as fat
Builds muscle
Boosts metabolic rate
What factors can you inherit that affect metabolic rate?
Under active thyroid gland which lowers metabolic rate and causes obesity
Increased blood cholesterol level ( a fatty substance) which increases risk of heart disease
